Hitem3D (Hi3D) — An AI tool that generates high-detail 3D models from images or text and exports print-ready data

An AI tool from a Hong Kong-based team that generates 3D models from images or text. It launched in July 2025 under the name “Hitem3D,” built on Sparc3D, a 3D generation model developed by the same team. In 2026 the brand was renamed “Hi3D,” and the old domain hitem3d.ai now redirects to hi3d.ai. Beyond simply producing geometry, it covers part splitting for 3D printing, multi-color output, and handoff to slicer software in a single interface, so it is used for games, AR/VR, and video production as well as for personal 3D printing.

Key Features

  • High-detail 3D models from images: Accepts a single image or multiple reference images and advertises high-detail output at 2048³ voxel resolution with 8K PBR textures. Hand it a photo or an illustration and it produces both geometry and textures
  • From text to image to 3D: If you have no source image at hand, you can generate one from text and then convert it to 3D in the same flow, moving from idea to model in one pass
  • Automatic splitting for printing (Split-to-Print): Models too large for the build volume, or with complex shapes, are automatically divided into parts with connector structures, producing output designed for assembly
  • Multi-color printing support: Detects color regions in the model and prepares data intended for output with multiple filaments
  • Export to major formats and slicers: Supports STL, OBJ, 3MF, GLB, and USDZ, and hands off directly to slicers such as Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer, and Creality Print, making it easy to feed either game engines or 3D printers
  • API and MCP tools: In addition to the web interface, there is a public API, and documentation for MCP tools that let AI assistants call it. This is the entry point if you want to automate generation

Pricing

A credit-based subscription. The credits consumed per run vary with the output resolution and the features used.

PlanMonthly priceMonthly creditsWhat you get
Free$0100 (one-time grant per account)1 concurrent task, 7 stored models, 3 downloads per feature per month. Output is treated as CC BY 4.0 (attribution required)
Pro$19.901,000Up to 100 assets per month, 10 concurrent tasks, 200 stored models, private and commercial use allowed, email support
Max$39.902,400Up to 240 assets per month, 20 concurrent tasks, 400 stored models, a faster generation channel
Ultra$129.908,000Up to 800 assets per month, 30 concurrent tasks, unlimited storage, dedicated support

Pricing is current as of August 2026. Annual billing discounts are offered at times. The official pricing page listed the contents of each plan but the amounts could not be retrieved, so the monthly prices other than Pro are reference figures based on external sources. Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Even a single image can yield a model with fine detail, cutting a large amount of manual modeling work
  • Splitting, multi-color, and slicer integration for 3D printing are all handled in one continuous flow
  • A wide range of export formats means the destination — game engine or printer — is rarely a problem
  • The free plan lets you confirm actual output quality before paying
  • The API and MCP tools make it possible to fold generation into automated workflows or AI assistants

⚠️ Cons

  • The free plan’s credits are a one-time grant, not a monthly refill
  • Free-plan output is treated as CC BY 4.0 (attribution required), so commercial use as-is requires a paid plan
  • Because it is credit-based, costs are hard to predict when iterating at high resolution
  • Generated results are not always finished assets; retopology and UV cleanup are sometimes needed afterward
  • The brand and domain moved from Hitem3D to Hi3D, so search results mix old and new information

Who Is It For

  • People who own a 3D printer and find preparing the 3D data for what they want to print a burden
  • Creators who want to quickly produce first-pass assets for games or AR/VR
  • Designers who have reference photos or illustrations but lack the modeling skills or time
  • Anyone who wants to output figure or small-object prototypes already split to fit the build volume
  • Developers who want to build 3D generation into their own workflow through the API or MCP

Summary

Hitem3D — now Hi3D — packages everything from generating a high-detail 3D model out of an image or text through to taking it into a 3D printer. The print-oriented features such as splitting, multi-color, and slicer integration are what set it apart from general-purpose 3D generation services. On the other hand, costs vary with usage because it is credit-based, and free-plan output carries an attribution requirement. A reasonable approach is to check generation quality against your own source material with the free 100 credits first, then consider the Pro plan once it proves practical.
